America’s Economic Malaise Direct Result of Biden Fiscal Policies – President Biden’s war on America’s abundant energy production is choking off the lifeblood of our economy, decreasing overall production, and driving up the cost of nearly everything. Meanwhile, excessive and ineffective regulations are hamstringing businesses and slowing wage growth. The Fed’s financing of record-breaking levels of government spending caused the inflation shock. Spending trillions more of printed dollars, whether in the form of some Build Back Better legislation or student loan ‘forgiveness’ will be more fuel on the inflation fire, and risks pushing America even further towards recession. Americans need relief from this historic economic crisis. To give it to them, Biden must turn from his radical economic policies. Heritage Expert: EJ Antoni

Supreme Court Will Determine If Customers Can Sue Businesses for ‘Emotional Distress.’ This Has Serious Implications for Religious Freedom. This is a great development for conservatives nationally, and especially for those religious business owners who might otherwise have found themselves at the end of a lawsuit targeting them for violation of nothing more than “emotional distress” damages. Think here of a religiously-affiliated hospital who refuses to perform “gender affirming” surgeries in violation of their associated religious beliefs. Should Cummings have been decided differently, such a hospital would have been subject to untold suits for emotional damages. This is also good news for court watchers as this court has demonstrated – through this opinion – that they are committed to a textualist interpretation of the underlying statutory law and where Congress has failed to specify, they will not read into that law, provisions (like damages) that don’t exist. Britain finally has a powerful vision for its foreign policyAt a time of war in Europe, and mounting fear and uncertainty on the world stage, British geostrategic leadership is particularly vital. So it was encouraging to hear Foreign Secretary Liz Truss outline such a powerful vision in her Mansion House Easter Banquet address. This was one of the most important speeches delivered by a British Foreign Secretary in recent decades. Truss understands the big picture well. She grasps the significance of the historic moment we face as the courageous people of Ukraine battle a brutal invasion by Russian forces, hell bent on imposing a barbaric occupation on a free sovereign nation that is literally fighting for its survival. Blame Washington, no Putin, for rising pricesHow out of control is inflation? One measure says it all: Prices are now rising as fast in one month as they used to rise in a whole year when President Joe Biden took office. The measure of inflation that gets the most attention is the consumer price index (CPI), which estimates the prices consumers are paying for a typical combination of goods and services. The CPI rose 8.5 percent in the 12 months from March 2021 to March of this year — the fastest increase in four decades. Heritage Experts: Joel Griffith and EJ Antoni

Washington can ease food inflation and global food shortagesFood prices are rising at rates not seen in over 40 years. But skyrocketing prices are not the only food issue that should concern U.S. policymakers. Russia’s invasion of Ukraine could lead to global food shortages. While the U.S. doesn’t rely on Russia or Ukraine for food, many countries — such as those in North Africa and the Middle East — do. If they are unable to import food from them, this could lead to significant problems, including famine, mass migration and political instability.
And food shortages abroad also could exacerbate inflation in domestic food prices, which already is crushing Americans.
There’s still time to mitigate the risk and extent of war-related global food shortages. To do so, Congress and the Biden administration will need to look beyond simply providing food assistance to other nations. Heritage Expert: Daren Bakst

Leftists Try to Shame Chris Pratt for His Faith. Here’s Why They Won’t Win.Every single example the left tries to point to as proof Pratt deserves to be exiled falls flat because it’s a lie. Pratt is a good person who also happens to be a devout Christian. There will undoubtedly be new accusations leveled against him in the future, as the left refuses to leave him alone.  But if his movies are any indication, Pratt usually beats the bad guy in the end.
