First of all, thanks so much to Pixie Hobby for writing to you yesterday
about the need to ban the export of thermal coal. By the way, when I was at
Sierra Club, Pixie was working as a Justice Department lawyer within
Environment Canada. I am so proud she decided that, in her retirement, she
should use her considerable brain and energies to the benefit of our shared
work and the Green Party's growth.

I want to make sure you noticed that the deadline for my parliamentary
petition on banning the export of thermal coal is MAY 10!

Please take a moment right now to SIGN THE PETITION [1]. We really need a
big number of signatures before I present it in the House.

As an example of a recent successful effort, Green MP Mike Morrice's
petition to urge the government to fast-track the creation of a Disability
Benefit had _over 18,000 signatories_ by the time he presented it! The
thermal coal petition has a couple of hundred right now, so please take a
moment and sign it. THE DEADLINE IS MAY 10!

Then, please then send a note to the GPC ([email protected]) to let us
know you have signed. While you're here, I would be so grateful if you
