Dear John,
Earlier today, Jim Firman officially announced his plans to retire from the National Council on Aging (NCOA) after nearly 25 years of service. As a fellow advocate for older adults and member of the extended aging professional community, we wanted you to be among the first to know.
During Jim’s tenure, the organization has helped millions of low-income older adults access critical benefits through the introduction of BenefitsCheckUp.org, the Access to Benefits Coalition, and improvements to Medicare and Medicaid. He has also been a relentless advocate for the importance of community-based organizations.
To ensure a smooth transition, Jim has agreed to remain in his role until a successor has been named and onboarded. A full press release can be found here.
Thank you for everything you are doing to support NCOA and older adults. We look forward to your continued support to achieve our goal of improving the lives of 40 million older adults by 2030.
Warm regards,
The NCOA Executive Team |
