Thank you for everything you do to protect and preserve our national parks.

Dear Friend of the National Parks,

At this special time of year when we often reflect on what is
important in our lives, I want to thank you for your steadfast support
of NPCA and your national parks.

While it's been another challenging year, we still have much to
be proud of thanks to the hard work, generosity and dedicated spirit
of members and supporters like you.

Here are just a few examples of how your advocacy and support of
NPCA's work helped protect your parks this year:

A package of more than 100 bills representing significant expansions
and enhancements to America's national parks and public lands
passed the House of Representatives ... a great way to kick off
NPCA's centennial year.

In June, the state of Arkansas reached a deal with the owners of an
industrial hog farm to remove the facility from the Buffalo River
watershed - and the governor announced a permanent moratorium on
similar facilities in the watershed moving forward.

Following significant public pressure, including thousands of messages
from NPCA members and supporters, the National Park Service reversed a
decision that would have allowed off-road vehicles on paved and dirt
roads in national park sites in Utah.

And just last month, the House passed legislation to protect the
landscapes that surround Grand Canyon National Park and Chaco Culture
National Historical Park. If enacted, these bills will provide
permanent protection from destructive energy development for both
parks.

While we know there will be continuing challenges and much hard work
ahead, victories like these remind us just how much we can accomplish
together.

That's why, here at NPCA, we never forget how grateful we are
for you - every day of the year. Because your enthusiasm,
dedication and unwavering support inspires us and makes all of this
critically important work possible.

So thank you for everything you do for the parks. I wish you and yours
all the best for the coming holidays!

Sincerely,

Theresa Pierno
President and CEO

P.S. Don't forget, you can always keep up with our work and
what's happening in the parks by visiting our Park Advocate
