Major news, John:
Just yesterday, the New York State Court officially announced the current redistricting maps we've used to build our campaign are considered unconstitutional — and now they'll have to be redrawn.
This decision means that we’ll likely face an entirely new election date and a new petitioning drive. This delay could provide opportunities for new challengers to jump in the race and a runway for the current challenger to raise even more resources against Jamaal.
Our next major fundraising deadline is just a few days away, and the only way we can prepare our campaign for this massive electoral shift is by reaching our fundraising goals. That's why we set a goal to raise $25,000 before our midnight deadline on Saturday, April 30 — and to make it happen, I need your help. I'm asking you to make a donation of any amount before Saturday's midnight deadline. Can I count on you?
We're facing a major challenge to Jamaal’s reelection campaign as last quarter, Jamaal's conservative, establishment opponent outraised us. What's more, if our opponent, corporate PACs, Wall Street, and conservative, establishment democrats continue to outraise us, it will make winning the primary much harder.
Reaching our April fundraising goal is a huge opportunity for us to catch up and ensure we have the resources to fight back and keep Jamaal in Congress where he belongs. We know Jamaal is a leader who delivers for working people — but getting that message out to voters takes resources.
Now more than ever we need supporters like you, John, to show up for our progressive, grassroots campaign. Anything you can chip in right now will help us meet our $25,000 goal and directly power our voter outreach, digital ads, community events — and ensure that our campaign is strong enough to withstand any obstacles that come our way.
Thank you,
Luke Hayes
