Our first fundraising deadline of the new quarter is this Saturday.
Reaching these monthly fundraising targets keeps us on track for the goals our campaign sets and sets our campaign up for success on Election Day. That’s because a well-funded campaign means having the financial resources to plan and execute our on-the-ground efforts and communicate in different ways to reach all of the new voters in the district.
This year, about 70% of voters are new to TX-07! That’s a lot of people who I haven’t met yet, who I need to connect with. We will do that again this year by knocking on doors, going to events, meeting people where they are, and sending them information in every way we can. The truth I’ve learned through these past elections is that all of that costs a lot of money.
The other thing I have learned — on the ground in Washington and at home in Texas — is that the stakes are just as high in this 2022 election as they were in 2018 and 2020. We see every day real threats to our freedoms, to our values, and to our democracy itself. That’s not hyperbole.
At the same time, we see that people are exhausted after the pandemic and the extreme partisanship of recent years. All indications are that we are going to have to work harder to get people to the polls this year. There is too much at stake for us to do anything else. So, we need to run a strong, effective campaign. That means setting goals and achieving them.
Your contributions play a key role in making all of that happen. You can make a big impact no matter how much you contribute. So please consider contributing any amount you can before the deadline on April 30.
Together, we can do anything,
