A Kevin McCarthy-aligned super PAC -- the Congressional Leadership Fund (CLF) -- just committed a staggering $1,600,000 for attack ads in the San Diego media market to unseat Mike Levin and flip California’s 49th District.

We need your help countering this outside spending in our district, but we’re coming up short of our $50,000 end-of-month fundraising goal and need to raise another $19,879 before midnight to stay on track.

Here’s the situation:

After redistricting, the voter registration advantage in CA-49 shifted slightly in Republicans’ favor. We suspected the GOP’s dark money groups would make a big play for this seat, but truth be told, we did not expect to see a massive TV reservation this early.

Mike’s race is officially among the dozen most competitive House races in the entire country for incumbent Democrats. That means our race is ground zero in our efforts to keep the House blue.

The good news is our campaign has already launched our grassroots outreach program into new areas of the 49th district. We’re also preparing mailers, digital ads, and TV buys of our own to counter the negative attacks coming from this PAC.

But with McCarthy going all in to unseat Mike, funding a winning effort will take much more resources than usual -- so we have to ask:
