Hi John –

Quick announcement: Tonight at 7 pm, Republicans Brian Kemp and David Perdue will have their second of three debates in their race-to-the-bottom GOP gubernatorial primary.

You may want to watch tonight. Not because Kemp or Perdue have ideas worth listening to, but because – if the first debate is any indicator – sparks will fly, and we’ll get an honest picture of who both men really are.

Perdue – a renowned jobs outsourcer, former business magnate, and recent loser to Senator Jon Ossoff – is so tightly wrapped around Donald Trump’s finger that he’ll repeat over and over Trump’s Big Lie about the 2020 election being stolen. In fact, it's his entire gubernatorial platform.

Kemp – a shotgun conservative pickup truck driver who likes to blow things up in his campaign ads – is so cowardly that he will let Perdue bludgeon him with lies on stage so as not to risk upsetting Trump supporters.

Georgia is better than these two and deserves a governor like Stacey Abrams who will put all the petty bickering aside and work hard every day for Georgians. But that doesn’t mean you can’t watch the utter spectacle of the Republican candidates debating each other tonight. You can catch the debate tonight on any of the following stations, or livestream the debate from their websites:

The debacle — er, uh, debate starts at 7 pm. So get out the popcorn, and get ready for a show.
