[1]Tammy Duckworth
In 2016, Tammy Duckworth defeated a Republican incumbent to become the first Asian American to ever represent Illinois in the U.S. Senate.
The first bill she introduced was signed into law only four months after she was sworn in, the fastest any current Senator passed a bill after taking office.
Tammy made history again when she became the first U.S. Senator to give birth, and to bring a baby onto the Senate floor — so she could care for her child and do her job at the same time.
When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, she joined her colleagues in the Senate to pass multiple relief packages that supported American families struggling from the economic impacts of the crisis.
In 2020, President Biden was elected and Democrats gained a majority in the Senate for the first time since Tammy was elected.
Since then, she co-founded the first Senate Environmental Justice Caucus and wrote and passed a law that is helping ensure all Americans have access to clean drinking water. She also helped pass the sweeping Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and a law to address the rise in hate crimes against Asian Americans, and worked tirelessly to protect working families and lower costs on everyday needs like prescription drugs, groceries, gas and more.
But Tammy is just getting started — and if she is going to stay in the Senate doing this important work, she’ll need supporters like you to pitch in to her re-election campaign.
This is especially important right now, as we approach our April End-of-Month deadline, so please:
Make a contribution of $5 or whatever you can afford to help Tammy Duckworth win re-election this November.
