FRC's Lasting Impact Starts with You!

Dear John,

I must share with you an urgent need.

The far Left's push for special privileges for sexual orientation and gender identity has led to a campaign of silencing conservative and biblical viewpoints. Leftists are fast tracking the LGBT agenda through policies and executive orders with no signs of slowing down.

On his first day in office, President Biden issued an executive order that expanded the holding of the U.S. Supreme Court's problematic 2020 Bostock v. Clayton County decision far beyond its intended scope of employment discrimination, requiring federal agencies to interpret laws that prohibit sex discrimination to also include sexual orientation or gender identity.

He then issued a second executive order directing the executive branch to pursue comprehensive policies that elevate the LGBT agenda.

Biden's first day actions were just a preview of the dozens of disappointing measures the administration has since taken, including:

  • The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) applying the Supreme Court's Bostock decision to the administration and enforcement of the Fair Housing Act, which could lead to HUD-funded shelters for battered women being mandated to allow biological men to be housed alongside women (where they may share private spaces, such as sleeping quarters and bathrooms);
  • The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) issuing a memorandum on the application of Bostock to Title IX education policies, paving the way for mandating that schools accept gender identity ideology;
  • The Pentagon reversing the long-standing military policy of prohibiting individuals who identify as transgender from serving in the armed forces;
  • Biden calling on Congress to swiftly pass the anti-life, anti-family, anti-faith Equality Act;
  • And so much more!

During this critical moment--with the Biden administration accelerating the LGBT agenda--concerned Christians must stand strong together for biblical principles and our freedoms. Will you partner with FRC today as we advocate for your faith, family, and freedom?

Unfortunately, the Biden administration is seemingly working overtime to undo many of the religious freedom policies of the previous administration, relegating this First Freedom to the backseat while pursuing radical policies couched in "anti-discrimination" language.

One of the latest example is the Global Respect Act which passed the House of Representatives in February.

Although the title sounds benign, this bill would undermine U.S. foreign policy by inserting radical gender ideology into America's human rights efforts. While this bill would please progressives, its existence is unnecessary. Current law already enables the U.S. government to sanction foreign persons responsible for human rights violations against anyone, including LGBT-identifying persons.

Not only is this bill unnecessary, but more importantly, it will inevitably derail the protection of foundational human rights when they conflict with the LGBT agenda.

Just look at Paivi Rasanen's case in Finland for an example of what could happen!

Current Finnish member of parliament and devout Christian Paivi was criminally charged by the Finnish Prosecutor General over comments she made affirming God's design for sexuality as understood in the Bible.

This was a clear violation of Paivi's religious freedom.

Thankfully, over 14,300 partners like you responded to our call to pray for Paivi, and FRC's Special Advisor for Religious Freedom, Pastor Andrew Brunson flew to Finland to deliver the prayer pledges and pray with her before her final trial on Monday, February 14.

After almost three years of litigation, the court finally decided in her favor on March 30. However, the Finnish state prosecutor has announced that she intends to file an appeal before this Saturday's deadline to continue pursuing criminal charges against Paivi!

Given the United States' longstanding commitment to promoting religious freedom abroad, it's a no-brainer that U.S. diplomats should be speaking out on her behalf. But if the Global Respect Act were passed by the Senate and signed into law, would she be sanctioned by the U.S. instead?

Religious believers around the world are facing increased scrutiny for their beliefs about marriage and family. We must stand with those whose religious freedom is under attack at home and abroad, like Paivi Rasanen.

Will you join with FRC and stand for biblical truth no matter the consequences?
