Friend,
Growing up in Minnesota, I admired Democratic leaders and Republican leaders alike. I took it for granted that even when lawmakers disagreed or made missteps, most of them had America's best interest in mind.
But several years ago, I saw the dangerous turn the Republican Party was taking. Rolling back environmental laws and abortion rights. Demonizing immigrants. Trying to eliminate protections for people with pre-existing conditions. Excusing mass shootings as the price we had to pay for freedom.
I knew that if we didn't act, America would become something we didn't recognize. So I ran for Congress in a swing district – and together, we won.
Maybe you were with me on that first campaign. Maybe you joined us recently. Either way, I can’t thank you enough for having my back.
Today, I'm asking for your help as we approach our end-of-month fundraising deadline. We're short of where we need to be, so we've set a goal of bringing in 500 grassroots donors before midnight Saturday. I hope you'll be one of them.
The midterm elections are about six months away. Between now and November, the GOP's dark money machine is going to ratchet up its attacks to try to turn you against me and turn our district red.
It’s easy to forget, but our district voted Republican every year from 1960 until 2018, when we flipped it. With our brand-new district lines and millions in outside spending coming to Minnesota, we can’t take a single vote for granted.
We're closing the books on April in just a few days, and we need to raise a few thousand dollars to stay on track with our goals. If you want to keep this district blue and help Democrats hold the House, invest in our campaign today.
Thanks and keep the faith,
Dean
