Hey John, Congressman Adam Schiff here.

I’m reaching out to tell you why it’s so vital that we protect my colleague Elaine Luria’s House seat, but before I get into that I have to ask – will you rush $25 or whatever you can towards Elaine’s end-of-month goal? Her deadline is on Saturday and she let me know that her team is still about $7,320 off pace.

I’ve had the privilege of working alongside Elaine Luria since 2018, and in that time she’s shown me what an asset she is to our House Majority.

Not only is she the second most effective member of the House, she’s a fierce advocate for strengthening civil rights, and takes her oath of office seriously – unlike many of our Republican counterparts.

And I think something we don’t talk about enough is just how important it is to have members of the House with national security backgrounds.

Elaine served in the United States Navy for twenty years. Her wealth of knowledge when it comes to protecting our country from enemies foreign and domestic cannot be understated.

In the wake of January 6th, Elaine did not hesitate to join me on the House commission investigating the attack – even though she’s in the very vulnerable position of running in a toss-up district against a Republican opponent peddling Trump’s “Big Lie.”

Elaine knew that when she joined the commission a barrage of Republican attacks would follow, but she never once considered backing down from her duty of defending our democracy.

That kind of resolve and integrity is exactly what we need in a member of Congress. We need to do everything in our power to protect Elaine’s toss-up seat from the far-right Republicans who are trying to flip it.

So, John, will you join me in defending Elaine Luria’s seat by chipping in $25 or more before Saturday at midnight?
