John,
Last week, Governor Janet Mills signed the 2022 supplemental budget into law. The budget directly addresses what Mainers need — including $850 direct relief checks for Maine people, one of the strongest financial relief proposals in the country.
This is just the latest example of how Mills’s bipartisan leadership has delivered results to Maine families for the last four years. Meanwhile, Paul LePage spent his time in office vetoing budgets for partisan reasons and even leading Maine to our first government shutdown in over two decades.
Maine has always been known for being practical and pragmatic, but Paul LePage would rather put his personal interests first. Can you help us keep Maine moving forward with a donation of $5 towards our end-of-month goals? [link removed]
LePage repeatedly ignored the wishes of Mainers while in office. When voters approved an increase in education funding in the budget, he led the push to strip it. And he said he would “rather go to jail” than use federal money to expand Medicaid even after a 2017 referendum where a majority of Mainers voted for it.
A return to Paul LePage would be a return to a Maine where only one person matters: Paul LePage. We must work hard to elect leaders that are willing to work across the aisle to get things done, not pursue their own interests.
Will you help us elect politicians who put people before partisan interests? Chip in any amount towards our end-of-month goals now. [link removed]
Thank you,
Gaetan Davis
