More than just a field trip, the Constitutional Ambassadors program is an intellectual, social, and skills-based educational experience in which students learn the basic principles of the U. S. Constitution, see rare historical documents, priceless artifacts, interactive exhibits, and live theater that bring contemporary discussions about the Constitution to life. Available topics include: Freedom of Speech Principles of the American Revolution Separation of Powers The Constitutional Ambassadors program is FREE for all students in the Philadelphia area, which includes transportation to and from the Center. Together, Philadelphia’s Museum of the American Revolution and the National Constitution Center offer visitors a joint ticket that includes admission to both museums for a discounted price. Blue Star Museums is a collaboration among the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families, the Department of Defense, and museums across America, offering free admission to the nation’s active-duty military personnel and their families, including National Guard and Reserve. The 2022 Blue Star Museums program begins on Armed Forces Day, Saturday, May 21, 2022, and ends on Labor Day, Monday, September 5, 2022. Health and Safety The National Constitution Center is a great place to give students a meaningful in-person experience and is excited to welcome visitors in accordance with local, state, and federal health agencies. We are proud to have Global Biorisk Advisory Council® (GBAC) STAR™ accreditation, recognized for cleaning and disinfecting to a higher standard to keep our building clean and safe for our guests and staff. These spots will be filled by teachers from Pennsylvania, so apply now! George Washington at War: From Solider to Commander in Chief (June 21 – 25) First in Business: George Washington, Mount Vernon, and the New Nation (July 5 – 9) Martha Washington and the Women of the 18th Century (August 2 – 6) Applicants can read more about the programs here— travel reimbursement, lodging, and all meals are provided for this immersive five-day program! LEARN MORE The Constitution as Amended: Article V and a Walking Tour of America's 27 Constitutional Amendments Wednesday, May 18, 2022, 6:30 p.m. – 8 p.m. ET During this session, we will explore the amendment process, as outlined in Article V of the U.S. Constitution. Starting with why the process was included in the Constitution in the first place, we will also examine the 27 times the Constitution has been changed and determine the circumstances necessary to add a new amendment. The National Constitution Center is excited to host this series in partnership with the Los Angeles County Office of Education. Sessions are open to all educators nationwide.
