Terri is the only Democrat representing Alabama in Congress. Every Alabamian ought to feel represented in Washington, but if Terri loses her seat, Alabama Democrats won’t have any representation in Congress.

Voting rights are at risk. We all know the GOP has fought tooth and nail to restrict the right to vote. That’s why it’s so important to elect dedicated champions of voting rights like Terri to Congress.

Terri is a native of Selma. Born and raised in Alabama, Terri was the first Black valedictorian of Selma High School. We need to ensure a native of Alabama’s Black Belt is representing these close-knit rural communities in Washington.

Health care should be a right, not a privilege. Terri has long fought to improve access to health care by supporting Medicaid expansion. Terri is committed to strengthening the Affordable Care Act by reducing costs and increasing coverage.

The GOP only needs to flip 5 seats to take the majority. In midterms this close, every race counts, and we need to make certain that Alabama’s only Democratic seat remains Democratic after November.

Our children deserve a high-quality public education. As a product of Selma’s public schools, Terri knows the importance of well-run, well-funded school districts. In Congress, Terri has fought to end tax loopholes for private academies and supports strengthening Alabama’s HBCUs.

Terri is facing her first GOP challenger in a decade. It’s no secret that the GOP will be motivated in 2022. That means we just have to fight even harder to support and elect Democrats like Terri.
