As Americans across the country shop for a bargain on Black Friday, 70 workers are unsure how they will pay their bills or put food on the table.

Earlier this month, workers at the Marciano Art Foundation (MAF) were fired by the Marciano family, the founders of Guess Jeans and MAF, just four days after they petitioned to form their union with AFSCME Council 36 (California). By shuttering MAF’s doors, the Marcianos are destroying the livelihoods of their employees just as the holidays approach.

On Black Friday, join AFSCME members and community allies across the country as we demonstrate outside Guess stores and demand that the Marciano family:

Re-open MAF, reinstate the workers and recognize their union!

MAF workers weren’t asking for much — just to be treated with basic respect and dignity, be given access to water fountains, be able to set their schedules and be paid above minimum wage.

AFSCME fights every day to ensure that working people have the freedom to join a union to improve their workplaces, lift up their families and strengthen their communities.

Help us make the Marcianos understand that they are not above the law.

Let’s tell the owners of Guess Jeans — GUESS AGAIN! AFSCME will not let this injustice go unanswered.
