I’m proud to announce the Six PAC’s first endorsement for the California Assembly this year: Fatima Iqbal-Zubair, a teacher, immigrant, and mother running in a working-class Los Angeles County district.
As a high school chemistry and environmental science teacher, Fatima and her students learned how nearby oil refineries made their neighborhood one of the most polluted in California. Arsenic made the school football field too toxic to use, and cloudy water came up from the water fountains.
Now, she’s running for California Assembly against a Big Oil Democrat that has taken over $300,000 from the fossil fuel industry … and voting in the Democratic primary starts in just a few weeks.
Even in a blue state like California, unlimited corporate campaign contributions stop progress. Corporate Democrats are blocking single-payer health care, and side with fossil fuel companies.
Whenever right-wing state legislatures attack reproductive rights or dismantle environmental regulations, other states pass copycat bills.
We need a progressive majority in California to lead the way on universal health care, higher wages, and worker’s rights. And to do that, we need to defeat corporate Democrats.
