Hi John,
Earlier this month, NIAC Action proudly endorsed three local candidates in California that are running for office to make a difference in their communities.
The people that represent us in local office have a tremendous amount of power and influence over our lives everyday - which is why we are only supporting candidates that are committed to protecting civil rights, uplifting the voices of those most marginalized, and working alongside our community to advance progress.
That is why I’m asking you to join us on Tuesday, May 17th at 5pm PT/8pm ET for a virtual event in support of our California endorsees: Sara Aminzadeh, Shebreh Johnson-Kalantari, and Pete Hardin.

All three of these community leaders will face off at the ballot box on June 7th. We can’t afford to wait– we must show up now to support them before voting begins. RSVP today >RSVP
Learn more about why NIAC Action endorsed these three candidates:
Sara Aminzadeh is a California Coastal Commissioner, climate champion, working mom, and first-generation Iranian American. If elected, she will be the first Iranian-American woman to ever sit in the California State Assembly.
After a hugely successful first year on Santa Cruz City Council, addressing some of the most pressing issues in Santa Cruz, like affordable housing, wildfire preparedness, and economic recovery, Shebreh Kalantari-Johnson is taking her leadership to the next level and running for Santa Cruz County Commission.
Pete Hardin is running for District Attorney in Orange County, CA. If elected, he will represent one of the largest Iranian-American populations in the entire country. Pete understands how vital it is to combat the discrimination that impacts communities like ours and we hope you’ll join us in supporting him as well as our other candidates on the 17th!
Thank you for your support.
Sincerely,
Jamal Abdi
