On this blessed night, give your Zakah in support of Palestine!

Dear Email,

Simply put, Al-Aqsa is under attack! While The Aqsa Mosque is on Palestinian land, ultimately, it belongs to the Muslim ummah as a whole. But it is only being protected now by unarmed Palestinian worshippers; men and women, youth and elderly with a mission. Their only defense, other than their belief in Allah, are shoes and stones. Every single year, Israeli forces attack worshippers in Masjid Al-Aqsa to force its partition, and every single year, Palestinians protect the Holy Mosque with whatever they have on behalf of the entire Muslim Ummah.

Our obligation as the American Muslim community is greater than other communities. It is the United States that supports the Israeli occupation’s impunity and oppression. The attacks on Al-Aqsa are funded with American tax dollars. The murder of Palestinian children in Ramadan is funded with American tax dollars. The ongoing destruction of Palestinian homes and ethnic cleansing of their land is funded with American tax dollars. As all of this is being done in our names and with our tax dollars, we have a greater responsibility as Americans to do more for the Palestinian people.

That is why we at AMP continue to organize and mobilize nationwide. Whether it is through protests, educational programs, or our advocacy work, AMP, As a premier organization in the Palestine solidarity movement, is bringing the attacks on al-Aqsa and the crimes of the occupation to the forefront. Our awareness campaigns to educate our fellow Americans on the Palestinian cause and the Israeli occupation, and our expansive advocacy work are bearing fruit.

On the Night of Power over 1400 years ago, the prophetic mission began with the word “Iqra” – or read. One word that changed the course of history, but it came with a price in order for it to prevail. It was a mission of mercy and justice for mankind. The Prophet (PBUH) and his companions strove, struggled, and sacrificed dearly. Reading, seeking knowledge, and raising awareness is a guiding principle in Islam and, ultimately, guides our work for justice in Palestine.

On this potential Night of Power, we must follow the Prophet's (PBUH) tradition and strive with what we can for Al-Aqsa and the people of Palestine. This is what we do at AMP. We understand the power of knowledge and the great effects of advocacy.

On this blessed night, help us continue this noble struggle for justice in Palestine and the protection of Al-Aqsa. It will take time to achieve, but it can be done. We must believe in ourselves, our capability, and our potential. And above all, we need to believe that the Almighty doesn't abandon those who stand for justice and righteousness.

Jazakum Allahu Khairan,
