John,
These past few weeks have been among the saddest of my career in public office.
Without any outside input, Governor Ron DeSantis redrew Florida’s Congressional maps to intentionally erase the voices of Black and Brown voters.
During such difficult times, I try to remind myself of Michelle Obama’s 2016 DNC speech:
- “We insist that the hateful language they hear from public figures on TV does not represent the true spirit of this country.
- We explain that when someone is cruel or acts like a bully, you don’t stoop to their level.
- Our motto is: when they go low, we go high.”
I know that despite what the pundits say and despite the odds, we can beat DeSantis.
Not by lowering ourselves to his level, but by rising above it together.
Please, John. In a few days, my campaign is facing a critical end-of-April fundraising deadline and I need your help.
Will you chip in any amount to help me defeat Ron DeSantis?
Thank you,
Annette Taddeo
