Dear John,

Primary season is heating up and more elections are right around the corner! Here are four quick things you can do to prepare:

Make a plan to vote. Look up your primary date, any important deadlines, and the voting options available to you. Decide if you’re voting early, voting by mail, or voting in person. If you plan to vote by mail, don’t wait until the last minute! Many states also offer ballot tracking so you can see the status of your mail ballot delivery.

Check your voter registration! #CheckYourReg here ([link removed]) to confirm that your voter registration information is up to date, including your mailing address, which can affect your ballot’s delivery (if voting by mail) or your polling place location (if voting in person). If you see a problem, contact your local election office or the [link removed] Protection Hotline immediately. You can find your election official’s contact information by visiting [link removed] clicking on your state and county.

Learn about your voting equipment. Visit the Verifier ([link removed]) to see the types of voting equipment that will be used in your polling place or vote center! We collect information on all sorts of voting systems, from the check-in equipment to the equipment you’ll vote with. Visit our Voting Equipment Database ([link removed]) for even more resources and instructional videos on your voting equipment.

Follow your local elections office for up-to-date information. Your local election officials are your trusted source of information. Look up your election official’s contact information by visiting the Verifier ([link removed]) and clicking on your state and county. Follow them on social media to ensure that you’re getting accurate information and important updates! Make sure your voice will be heard on Election Day by making a plan to vote today. To help us keep bringing you the nonpartisan information you need about our elections, please consider a gift towards our education and outreach efforts today.

With thanks,
