After a successful fossil fuel divestment campaign in the city of Chicago, we at 350 Chicago are working for divestment legislation state-wide.

Similar initiatives in New York, Maine and California have committed to divest billions of dollars of state funds from fossil fuels, thereby increasing momentum for further successes in fighting the climate crisis.

We want Illinois’s pension funds to divest from the top 200 oil, coal and natural gas companies. We have drafted a divestment bill that is currently under review with the Illinois Environmental Council. Please consider supporting / joining our campaign!
