Hi John,

Immigration reform is having a moment. Between the increased focus on
the need for meaningful border solutions, refugee crises in Ukraine and
Afghanistan, a call for bipartisan solutions in the State of the Union,
and the launch of The Alliance for a New Immigration Consensus
,
conversation will continue to heat up this summer.

That's why it's so important for both parties in Congress to rise to
the occasion and come together to find necessary, bipartisan solutions
NOW. The last time Congress passed expansive immigration reform
legislation was in 1986 - that's over 36 years ago. What's
infuriating is that the solutions are available - Congress should
seize this moment to pass needed reforms. It's popular, it's
practical, and it's the path forward for our communities.

**Act now and urge Congress to pass immigration reforms.**
So - why is it so important to pass these
reforms now?

First - a majority of Americans broadly support immigration reforms

that address finding meaningful, bipartisan solutions addressing the
U.S.-Mexico border, Dreamers, Temporary Protected Status (TPS) holders,
and farm workers. And there isn't just extensive support for
immigration reforms - there's a dire need for them. We must start
addressing labor shortages,

inflation, and demographic decline
-
and immigration reforms can serve an important function in addressing
these challenges. It is up to Congress to tackle these issues to improve
our immigration system.

Take action and tell your Senators to pass
 bipartisan immigration reform.
In the next few weeks, we are sure to hear more
and more about the U.S.-Mexico border - specifically, the end of Title
42, the pandemic-era

policy that allows officials to turn away migrants at the U.S.-Mexico
border. Yet, even with Title 42 in place, encounters at the border have
hit a two-decade high, a stark reminder of the urgent need to find
legislative solutions that address not only border security and
management, but also address the broken immigration system that drives
this situation.

It's not just about the border - it's also about the lives of
undocumented immigrants who have contributed to our economy and culture,
who are gripped with uncertainty and fear of deportation. It's past
time to stop this harmful cycle. Congress can and must find bipartisan
consensus on long-term solutions for immigrants who are here and
contributing and whose futures are uncertain.  

The time is now for Congress to pass immigration reforms.
 

Commonsense solutions are popular, practical, and will enrich our
culture and our communities. Now more than ever, Congress must take
action to pass needed immigration reforms today.
