How has climate change affected you?

Friend,

The climate crisis disproportionately impacts the public health of communities of color.

As a result of generations of racist and discriminatory policies like redlining, communities of color are less likely to have access to clean air, lead-free water, reliable public transit, and other safe infrastructure.

We’re turning the corner, though. Last year, President Biden issued an executive order, the Justice40 Initiative, to earmark at least 40% of federal climate and infrastructure funds to these frontline communities.

But for the goal of Justice40 to become a reality, states must pass corresponding legislation.

Fortunately, earlier this year, Assemblymember Isaac Bryan introduced the California Justice40 Act (AB 2419) to ensure that environmental justice communities receive at least 40% of federal climate and infrastructure funding to begin addressing decades of inequity and create new opportunities for communities who have long been denied investment.

Here’s where you come in, friend. To build support for the Justice40 bill up and down the state, we want to hear from you about the need for these investments and the impacts they could have.

Tell us: How have the effects of climate change impacted your life?
