John,
Join young people from Advocates for Youth and the #FreeThePill campaign in front of the White House TOMORROW, April 28th, 2022, as we urge the Biden Administration to follow the science and bring birth control pills over-the-counter, no prescription or age restriction necessary.
- When: Thursday, April 28, 2022, 12-4pm ET
- Where: Lafayette Square, in front of the White House
- What: Share your thoughts about the importance of making birth control pills available over-the-counter!
Advocates for Youth will set up a mobile “drugstore shelf" in front of the White House to demonstrate to passersby what a world where we #FreeThePill will look like. The #FreeThePill Popup Shelf will look like it’s been ripped right out of CVS or Walgreens, complete with Tide, Kleenex, condoms, Tylenol, Plan B, and yes, birth control pills (well, sort of). The event launches a week of action across the country where nearly 300 young people will put fake birth control boxes in their local drugstores to raise awareness about the #FreeThePill campaign!
The “birth control pills” on the shelf will be a box made to look like birth control is for sale, but it will really be filled with information on why it’s time for the FDA to bring oral contraceptives over-the-counter. Thousands of Americans, especially young people, are calling on the Biden Administration to let the FDA do its job and follow the science.
Complete with a camera crew and microphone, comedian and Advocates for Youth campaign strategist, Geoff Corey, will be interviewing visitors in front of The White House, but “man on the street” style — and you can be featured on camera as well, or shoot your own short video and take a “shelfie” for your social media!
Reply to this email if you're coming! We hope to see you at the White House tomorrow.
In solidarity,
Angela Maske
