I’ve got good news and bad news, John.
First, let me get the bad news out of the way.
The more research our campaign does on the makeup of the primary electorate, the more we are learning that there is a narrowing pool of undecided voters — and this group of voters will ultimately be the ones that decide which Democrat will be on the ballot to face off against Ryan Zinke and his long and dangerous record of corruption in November.
That means the competition for these swing voters is going to be INCREDIBLY steep. In fact, based on previous primary turnout, we only expect between 60,000-70,000 votes to be cast — which means in a three-way race, it could potentially only take 20,000 votes to win.
We know that Tom is the ONLY candidate in this race that can win in the general election, but if we don’t have the resources to reach these key primary voters, this race will be over before it even gets started.

Now, let’s talk about the good news: Our campaign has a plan and strategy to earn the votes to win this primary.
We’re going to win the old fashioned way, putting boots on the ground with people talking to people in key precincts across the district. We’re going to knock on thousands of doors and make thousands of phone calls over the next six weeks.
And here’s more good news: The largest share of the electorate is right in Tom’s community of Missoula, so we can make a difference without having to travel far!
Tom knows that the best way to earn the trust and support of these voters is to listen to them and share his vision one on one. That’s why he’s been making calls and knocking on doors himself.
