** Reliable Information Is a Right.
------------------------------------------------------------
============================================================
Dear FAIR Friend,
We’re in the last week of our spring fundraising drive, and inching closer to our $20,000 goal.
** With your help ([link removed])
, FAIR can keep doing the work necessary to correct the omissions, inaccuracies and bias of corporate media—calling out the skewed priorities of a press dominated by government sources and business interests.
Every day at FAIR.org, and every week on CounterSpin, we speak up when corporate media fall short, relying on the same stable of pundits and “experts” who tell stories from their armchairs.
Are you confused by inflation coverage, and looking for a straightforward breakdown of its causes and effects? Do you wonder where the media outrage over the migrants still facing inhumane conditions at the US border is?Are you angered by media “both-sidesing” homophobia and transphobia? Are you disturbed by corporate greenwashing and apathy over the climate emergency we’re facing?
We are too!
You know you can count on FAIR to give you the missing side of the story, the omitted facts, the untapped sources.
We don’t “cry wolf” about our finances. We ask for contributions four times a year, because 60% of our revenue comes from individual donors like you! We are so proud to have a community of readers and listeners who have kept us going for nearly 36 years.
** Please help make FAIR’s spring goal! ([link removed])
At FAIR, we believe reliable information is a right—not a privilege to be enjoyed by the elite few. Illuminating recent stories from FAIR have included:
* “Blaming Workers, Hiding Profits in Primetime Inflation Coverage” by Luca GoldMansour and Ines Santos (a thorough and informative study by two FAIR interns that your contributions help us fairly compensate!)
* “Trump’s Asylum Ban Hasn’t Disappeared—but Media Outrage Over It Has” by Dorothee Benz
* “Don’t Trust Polls on ‘Don’t Say Gay’” by David W. Moore
* “Media Need to Treat Every Day as Earth Day if We Want a Livable Planet” by Julie Hollar
We need your help to bring our spring fundraising drive to the finish line. You, our most ardent media activists, make FAIR possible.
** If you've already donated, thank you! If you haven't yet, please donate now. ([link removed])
Many thanks,
Olivia Riggio, Janine Jackson, Jim Naureckas & Julie Hollar
And our spring interns! Jasmine Watson, Ines Santos & Luca GoldMansour
