#NoWar2022: Resistance & Regeneration, World BEYOND War's virtual global conference, is coming up this July 8-10!

This year's virtual conference focuses on imagining what a world beyond war can look like. It centers the unique stories of people around the world who are challenging the structural causes of militarism, corrupt capitalism, and climate catastrophe, while, at the same time, concretely creating an alternative system based on a just and sustainable peace.

Through 3 days of online panels, workshops, and discussion sessions from July 8-10, we will explore this unique theme of both "resistance" and "regeneration".

Italian activists in Vicenza who have curbed the expansion of a military base and converted part of the site into a peace park;
Organizers who have demilitarized the police in their cities and are exploring alternative community-centered policing models;
Journalists who are challenging mainstream media bias and promoting a new narrative through peace journalism;
Educators in the UK who are demilitarizing education and promoting peace education curricula;
Cities and universities across North America that are divesting from weapons and fossil fuels and pushing forward a reinvestment strategy that prioritizes community needs; and much more.

Conference sessions will offer a glimpse into what’s possible by exploring different alternative models and what’s needed for the just transition to a green and peaceful future, including public banking, solidarity cities, and unarmed, nonviolent peacekeeping.

#NoWar2022 will be hosted on the new Zoom Events platform, providing an interactive virtual conference experience, while also offering the familiar look and functionality of a Zoom meeting or webinar. This expanded platform will enable virtual one-on-one networking among conference participants, as well as virtual expo booths featuring the work of organizations involved in the event. You can browse the booths and start up conversations with people you meet along the way.

Our annual #NoWar Conferences serve an important function, for education, skills training, and networking, to build a sense of global solidarity. Last year's virtual conference brought together participants from 33 different countries! World BEYOND War was founded as a global network because we know that to abolish something as large as the institution of war will require a truly transnational effort. Each year's conference offers us an opportunity for learning, inspiration, and nourishment to connect with others around the world who share our vision for a peaceful, just, and green world - and discuss the practical strategies needed to get us there.
