* and Supporting New Leadership Transitions at NNIRR*

Dear Friends,

*"It's a time of transitions for NNIRR! "*As you may know, our long time Executive Director, Cathi Tactaquin, recently stepped down after 30+ years of amazing immigrant rights and migrant rights movement building. We celebrated Cathi in June during a fun-filled [ [link removed] ] evening of reunion and acknowledgement.

Cathi's vision and the programs she developed helped seed the movement with hundreds of immigrant and migrant rights activists, many now leaders in the social and economic justice community, including the resistance against Trump's attacks on immigrants and refugees. "We are grateful for Cathi's contributions to building a strong international movement to protect the human rights of migrants and refugees."

*Welcome Jennifer and Alma!*

The Board of Directors is happy to welcome *Jennifer Ferrigno* and *Alma Maquitico* as NNIRR's Interim Co-Directors as we develop a new shared leadership model. "*Both Jennifer and Alma have been part of the NNIRR family for nearly 20 years and we are excited to have them lead in these new roles at a critical juncture for our organization and for the movement! *"Their experience in human rights advocacy, community organizing, fundraising, membership development and more, are crucial to shaping and building the Network's contribution to the immigrant and refugee rights movement.

Jen will be based in our office in Oakland, while Alma will remain in El Paso, Texas, strengthening NNIRR's Just Borders initiative with her expertise and grounding in border community work. Read more about Jen and Alma here [ [link removed] ].

"*As always, our members and friends have been the backbone of our work. Please help us guarantee a successful transition and *"*"donate" [ [link removed] ]*"* to NNIRR today!*"

In the meantime, Cathi will not be far away; she will be helping to transition the co-directors in their new roles over the coming months, and will remain connected to the Network's program as an active member. We honor Cathi for passing on such a rich legacy and look forward to working with Jennifer and Alma in their new roles. And we thank you, as always, for your friendship and support.

"In solidarity,"

*Eddie, Isabel, Lillian, Gerald, Bill & Mónica*
