Dear ally,
I'm writing you today to share some exciting news about our work to
advance the sexual and reproductive health and rights of young people.
With the support of Global Affairs Canada and in a partnership with
CARE Canada and other organizations, the Center for Reproductive
Rights is excited to implement a new program in Kenya, Uganda, and
Zambia to improve adolescent sexual and reproductive health services
and rights. SHE SOARS is a multi-year program designed to improve
access to essential reproductive health care services and empower
adolescents to make decisions about their own bodies.
SHE SOARS will directly support over 240,000 adolescent girls,
including 200,000 out-of-school girls who often have the least access
to, and greatest need for, comprehensive sexual and reproductive
health care information and services.
The goals of this program are threefold:
1. Increase the use of sexual and reproductive health services
2. Improve the delivery of these services
3. Provide trainings and resources to organizations to advocate
for evidence-based adolescent sexual and reproductive health
and rights policies, legal frameworks, and services
Adolescents face significant barriers that undermine their sexual and
reproductive health and rights, and the Center has been at the
forefront of these issues for nearly 30 years. We are thrilled to be a
part of this program to improve adolescent girls' access to essential
reproductive services, empower them to make decisions about their own
bodies, and make a lasting impact that improves their lives.
SHE SOARS is a long-term commitment to providing young people in
underserved communities in Africa with the crucial reproductive health
care access they need. This work is vital to protecting reproductive
rights around the world, and we're only able to take it on with
your partnership and support.
