I know my team reached out yesterday to let you know that Politico rated our race as a “toss-up,” and that National Journal listed us as one of the most competitive districts on the map in 2022. I wanted you to hear from me about what running in a race as competitive as this means for us in November and, if you’re able, how you can help me win.

Since October, we’ve received three independent race ratings, from Cook Political Report, Crystal Ball, and most recently, Politico. And now, the National Journal is weighing in as well. All say our race is going to be highly competitive this year.

In 2018, we flipped this seat by 1% – just over 3,000 votes. In 2020, we won again in a close race. Now, 2022 is shaping up to be very competitive.

Working for you in Washington has shown me just how broken our politics really are. I want to keep fighting for Mainers in Congress to ensure that our government works for us – not corporate special interests. But with a race this close, I know it’s support from folks like you that will help me win. We can’t leave anything up to chance.

My team sets monthly fundraising goals so that we have the resources to ensure this toss-up race lands in our favor, but we’re not going to get there without you, John. You know I don’t like asking, but if you’re able to, can you chip in to help us reach our April goal?
