Friend,

Stone Mountain Park is keeping the Confederacy alive by allowing white
nationalists to commemorate the legacy of slavery on public land. The
Stone Mountain Memorial Association approved an April 30 event hosted
by the Sons of Confederate Veterans,

a group that promotes hateful myths about the Confederacy and booked
a known white nationalist as their event's keynote speaker.

Contact the Stone Mountain Memorial Association today and urge them to
cancel the April 30 event hosted by the Sons of Confederate Veterans
and reject future events by any group that celebrates the Confederacy.

Stone Mountain has long been a gathering place for supremacists. In
1915, the Ku Klux Klan had their rebirth

at the top of the massive monument. Allowing the Sons of Confederate
Veterans to celebrate the values of the Confederacy on public land
validates their hateful rhetoric and sends a dangerous message that
Stone Mountain continues to be a safe space for white nationalists to
gather. This is a disgraceful reversal for the Stone Mountain Memorial
Association, which promised "truth-telling"

about the park's ugly history going forward.

That's why we need your help to stop this week's event and
all future events that give white nationalists a platform at Stone
Mountain Park. You can call the Stone Mountain Memorial Association at

The Stone Mountain Memorial Association's decision to approve
this year's event serves as a direct insult to the
city's majority Black community

, Georgians, tourists, and local activists like the Stone

that have worked for years to ensure these arrogant displays of
white privilege are no longer allowed at Stone Mountain. Tell them
it's past time to bar white nationalists from celebrating the
Confederacy's legacy of racial subjugation on public lands.

Thank you for standing with us to pressure the Stone Mountain Memorial
Association to create a more inclusive - and less offensive
- public space for Georgians and visitors to enjoy.

Sincerely,

Your friends at the Southern Poverty Law Center
