This movement has not gone away - help us stop them

John,

“There is a time for legitimate violence when there is legitimate tyranny.”

It’s not surprising that one of the organizers, Ali Alexander, of the January 6th insurrection made this claim. What is surprising is that he said it just two weeks ago, publicly on a podcast with Alex Jones from InfoWars.

Alexander is not an aberration. Countless other leaders of the Christian Nationalist movement have expressed similar sentiments this year, describing their struggle for power as a spiritual war that demands extreme measures, even violence.

Right now, their goal is to elect their anointed followers to positions of power across government. Center for Freethought Equality’s work right now is focused squarely on defeating these candidates and electing sane, secular humanists to office instead.

With the election a little more than 6 months away, we urgently need your support to prevail at the polls.

We need 100 donors to respond before our end-of-month fundraising deadline: Will you contribute $10, $25, or $50 to help us reach our goal?

The events of January 6th continue to energize White Christian Nationalists. And as Katherine Stewart in the NYTimes writes, “The most serious attempt to overthrow the American constitutional system since the Civil War would not have been feasible without the influence of America’s Christian nationalist movement. One year later, the movement seems to have learned a lesson: If it tries harder next time, it may well succeed in making the promise of American democracy a relic of the past.”

Help us stop religious these theists from gaining power. Support our campaign to recruit and elect humanists and atheists to office. If you want policies based on science, reason, and compassion instead of religious-justified bigotry, join us:

Contribute $10, $15, or even $25 and help the Center for Freethought Equality counter dangerous Christian Nationalists who believe in legitimate violence.

Thanks as always for your support.
