Congresswoman Nydia Velázquez, Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso and a whole slate of Brooklyn's top progressive leaders are supporting our fight for a better Brooklyn Democratic Party.
They'll all be at Littlefield Thursday night with Brooklyn Young Democrats and our partner clubs. And we'd love to have you there, too!
For too long, party leadership has operated with no transparency or accountability. As a result, Democrats are losing local races we should win, and judges are chosen in backroom deals. The party shuts out volunteers instead of empowering them, and does little to drive voter turnout.
Now's our chance to make a change.
District leaders can change the Brooklyn Democratic Party—and every leader is up for election in June 2022.
That's why Brooklyn Young Democrats and a coalition of reform-minded political clubs are leading the fight to create a Brooklyn Democratic Party that respects, empowers, and includes all Brooklynites. We're supporting a slate of candidates for District Leader that plan to do things differently.
Brooklyn Can’t Wait is an all-volunteer project. But political campaigns cost money. Each ticket sold for our kickoff event help our candidates hire staff, send mailers, and reach local voters.
These races may be tight—and your contribution can have a huge impact! Join us Thursday to meet the Brooklyn Can't Wait District Leader candidates, hear from elected officials, and mix and mingle with other reformers.
It's going to be a great event. But if you *really* can't make it, please donate what you can to the Brooklyn Can't Wait campaign so we can give our candidates the support they need.
