Dear John,
As we head into the holiday season, those with mental health conditions, or those caring for someone with a condition, tend to suffer more than usual. Over half report holidays make their situation even worse — citing sadness, loneliness, financial stress and unrealistic expectations.1
That’s why I hope you’ll support me today as I announce my plan to combat our country’s mental health epidemic.
For me, this is personal. I grew up in a family that has struggled with addiction, and I’ve lost loved ones to suicide. We don’t have a mental health system in this country. We have a patchwork of resources for those who can afford it and little comfort for the rest.
Our country’s mental health epidemic is at the heart of why I’m running for Congress — countless lives and unlimited potential are lost because of our malfunctioning, ineffective health care system.
My full plan is available on my website. In addition, please share this video to help me break the stigma around mental health conditions.

Mental struggles are part of our everyday life. There is nothing strange about it. The only thing that’s strange is how our government has ignored the epidemic. That’s why I’m asking for your support to get me to Congress - it’s time to get to work.
If you need help this holiday season, please reach out to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255.
Yours,
Lindsey
