It’s Barbra Streisand, and I am reaching out for my friend Cory, who I first met when he was just 24!

I’ve got a very special request for you, and I’m hoping that you can help me out. You see, it’s Cory’s 53rd birthday today, and I wanted to ask you personally if you’ll sign his birthday card while he’s at work in the Senate.

Cory and I have had a friendship for nearly three decades. We knew each other before he was ever elected to public office. It’s been an honor, as an American and his friend, to watch his joy and positivity shine through every day since, from City Hall to the Senate. Even on the hard days!

But that’s the kind of person Cory is — someone who works his heart out to help his hometown community of Newark, the people of New Jersey, and all of us across the country.

So this is where you come in, friend.

I’d personally be so grateful if you signed Cory’s birthday card before the end of the day. He brings such incredible joy in service to others, and today I want all of us to share some of our joy with him. His team let me know they’ll share it with him — along with all of your beautiful signatures.

I’ve been so inspired by the way you all and Cory have navigated the challenges of the last few years and continue to be such a movement for positivity and progress in our country.
