Got plans for Friday the 13th??? I could use your help!
We are hosting candidate interviews with the 2 runoff candidates vying for Texas Land Commissioner. The public interview will happen down in the at our Rio Grande Valley Sector satellite location (RGV), but we will livestream it for everyone else.
This race has gotten interesting. Dawn Buckingham is the presumed winner. For starters, she has the best name recognition. Some grassroots folks are calling her too establishment, though, in spite of the fact that a few on our own TTP Board had endorsed her in the first round, and she's got the endorsement of some remarkable conservative leaders...most notably Jonathan Stickland.
Her opponent, Tim Westley, was not on anybody's radar, yet he came in 2nd and therefore made it to the runoff. Suddenly he's been deemed the grassroots hero because he helped protect the Alamo from P Bush's greedy little hands. Is he? And is that enough to earn a statewide office? IDK...I'd never heard of nor spoken to him, so we will get to know him during the interview.
True Texas Project has a reputation for asking the hard questions and getting to the bottom of the issues. This will be no exception.
Help us out by sharing your comments and questions. We will do our best to incorporate them into the interviews. Please reply to this email to contribute!
Thanks,
