It is common sense that women need emergency medical care when an abortion goes wrong.

"It is common sense that women need emergency medical care when an abortion goes wrong, and it is common sense that states have the right to pass laws to protect patients. The American people get it. We hope the Supreme Court recognizes this and can get on the same page." —Catherine Glenn Foster, President & CEO at Americans United for Life

More Than Two-Thirds Of Americans Support State Safeguards On Abortions, Poll Shows ([link removed][UNIQID])
(The Daily Caller) More than two-thirds of Americans support the ability of states to safeguard abortion practices, according to a national poll released Tuesday. The poll, conducted by Americans United for Life in partnership with YouGov, surveyed 1,326 American adults on attitudes toward abortion and patients’ rights, and found that about 74% of respondents believe states should have the ability to pass laws ensuring abortion facilities comply with “basic medical practices and sanitation.”

(Life, Liberty, and Law) Alexandra DeSanctis, Staff Writer at National Review joins Tom Shakely and Noah Brandt of Americans United for Life to unpack the U.S. Supreme Court's decision to consider Louisiana's "Unsafe Abortion Protection Act" in 2020, the first abortion-focused case that the high court will consider in many years, and a breaking national poll from Americans United for Life/YouGov on the substantive health and safety issues at the heart of the Louisiana law that the high court will consider.

Most Americans want abortion clinics held to same medical standards as hospitals: Poll ([link removed][UNIQID])
(The Washington Times) “This survey highlights that Americans, regardless of their personal views on abortion, stand with us in our fight to protect a woman’s right to health care and emergency medical attention,” said Catherine Glenn Foster, AUL President and CEO Catherine Glenn Foster. “Women deserve the same standard of care no matter who their doctor is.”

Think the 2020 Democrats are extreme on abortion? So do most people, a new poll shows ([link removed][UNIQID])
(The Washington Examiner) Yet a majority of Americans aren't buying it. The pro-life organization Americans United for Life commissioned a poll by YouGov, a non-partisan polling firm, which surveyed more than 1,300 adults last month to ask them about these medical standards. Of those polled, 62% strongly agreed that abortion doctors should be held to the same standards as ordinary physicians, and 58% felt the same way about abortion facilities and hospitals. Far from being a political ploy, many Americans rightly see these restrictions as medically important.

Americans United for Life responds to David Daleiden verdict ([link removed][UNIQID])
(Americans United for Life) The ruling announced today forcing First Amendment champion David Daleiden to pay Planned Parenthood nearly one million dollars is a tragic miscarriage of justice. Planned Parenthood is America’s deadliest nonprofit and routinely generates tens of millions of dollars each year to produce one product: a dead human being. The work of David Daleiden and his colleagues simply reveals the nature of Planned Parenthood’s business—that after profiting from the death of a human being, they then profit again by the sale of her body

Abortion as Positive Good: The Democrats’ New Rhetoric Has Vile Precedents ([link removed][UNIQID])
(National Review) Abortion rejects the natural right to life in the same way. Declaring some members of the human species, by virtue of their age or degree of dependency, unworthy of the equal dignity and rights recognized in the proposition that “all men are Created equal” goes beyond the original sin of the American founding. It goes beyond “choice” and arguments about necessary evils. Instead, it follows a path trodden by southern slaveholders who rejected even the principle of equality and natural rights.
