Today, I'm proud to serve with Laura as the lieutenant governor of Kansas.

But back in 2018, I was her campaign treasurer. And I've continued paying very close attention to the numbers. So right now, I'm thrilled to see that our average online donation is $28 this year.

Some people might ask me, "Wouldn't it be easier to just ask a bunch of big wigs to chip in a few thousand dollars?" But Laura and I are running the right way -- not the easy way.

The fact that our average donation is so low means that thousands of regular people are invested in making this campaign -- and our plans for Kansas -- a success. But it also means that we need more people like you to chip in whatever you can as often as you can, to keep this campaign on track.

We've set a goal of recruiting 1,293 online donors by Saturday's April deadline, and I'm asking you to give the average donation of $28 -- or whatever you can -- to help us build momentum in May. Will you do your part and chip in now?

People like you have already laid a strong foundation. We've recruited quite a team, put our message on the airwaves, and we've developed a blueprint for victory. And more importantly, we've spent the last four years building a bridge from the Brownback era to a much more prosperous and better educated Kansas.

But we're still vulnerable until the job is done in November. In fact, Laura's the most vulnerable Democrat on the ballot this year. So we need to keep building, with one donation at a time.
