John,
You know when even Fox News has to confront Kevin McCarthy with one of his own lies, the lie must be pretty blatant. But that’s what happened when McCarthy went to the border for a photo opp.
During the interview, McCarthy tipped his hand at another plank of the GOP’s midterm strategy:
Lie. And when you are confronted over it, lie some more. Even when all of the facts and evidence are against you. Especially then. And especially when it comes to obscuring Republicans’ own attacks on our democracy.
Fox: “And regarding that audiotape, you had said that New York Times reporting on it was quote, ‘false and wrong.’ Then the tape came out. Did you lie?”
McCarthy: “No... I never called the President to say to resign. He and I have a very good relationship.”
And of course, attacking me is also a big part of the strategy. Once again, McCarthy threatened to remove me from the Intelligence Committee so Republicans can save face from their humiliating failure to hold Donald Trump accountable for the attack on our democracy on January 6.
“Adam Schiff… you know, those people won’t be on Intel anymore, and that’s okay. You can judge me by my enemies, I think I’ll be in good, good, good, good, uh, judgment.”
They seethe at me for doing what they won’t — or can’t.
As McCarthy’s leaked audiotape and the New York Times reveal, Republicans understood the ramifications of Trump’s incitement to riot at the Capitol. They just didn’t have the guts to do anything about it.
So they pivot to the border, to incite fear and hope they can ride the coattails of the Fox News Misinformation Machine’s mania all the way back to the House majority.
Please, rush a $10 donation to my campaign today to respond to McCarthy’s attacks. A coward like McCarthy can never become Speaker of the House.

McCarthy and the rest of the House Republicans are playing from the same sheet of music as Donald Trump.
Through all of Kevin’s lies, he did tell one truth — his relationship with Donald Trump is good. Good enough, in fact, to cover up for his many abuses in office.
I’m personally asking, John: Rush a donation of any amount to respond to McCarthy’s attacks and help me defend our House majority. Our democracy depends on it.
