Since 1995, we’ve had 24 years of Republican trifectas in Ohio. And over those 24 years, we’ve seen the impact of Republican policies.
Failing schools. Struggling towns. Stagnant wages.
And for months, in meetings with people like you, I’ve been raising the alarm about the health of Ohio’s democracy.
Time and again I hear the same things in response:
Ohio was never like this when I was a kid. What do we do to fix it?
I cannot believe Republicans are openly violating our state constitution and defying the will of the voters. How can we stop them?
I’m worried about our state, and my family. What’s the best way to pitch in and turn Ohio around?
I’ve been looking for a way to make it easy for you and other folks from across the state (and across the country) to pitch in and help.
A way for us to use the power of community – and leverage the power of our numbers – to lift Democrats running in every district, and reach Democratic voter all over Ohio.
A way for us to work together to invest in Ohio for the long-term. Strategically. Thoughtfully. Effectively.
Last week, I launched a new project that does all of that:
Blue Ohio.
It’s a community of people like you who care about Ohio, don’t like where it’s going, and want to join up with folks who feel the same.
Community members kick in a few bucks a month to crowdsource support for Democratic state legislative candidates. And the candidates get 100% of the funds donated to them. So if you are giving $10/month to the nominees – that’s what they’ll get.
Blue Ohio doesn't take a cut of those nominee funds. Instead, the program will be supported and expand based on tips (which are optional but appreciated).
In return, besides knowing that you’re doing something to turn Ohio around, if you’re joining at $10/month or more, you’ll be automatically invited to our monthly
Blue Ohio community “brown bag” virtual lunches. That’s where we’ll get together and talk about politics – and what we can do to pitch in and help. We’ll have guest speakers, too, who can help unpack what’s going on in the statehouse.
If you've been looking for a way to lift Democrats and push back against the Ohio GOP's attacks on democracy, join our community at
www.blueohio.org.
We'll be proud to have you.
Onward,
David
