Last week, Texas Governor Greg Abbott ordered border inspections for thousands of commercial trucks to crack down “cartel activity.” What does he have to show for it? Chaos.

With costs skyrocketing, Abbott’s stunt put tremendous strain on a supply chain already stretched by the pandemic. We lost hundreds of millions of dollars worth of fresh produce supplies coming into the US. Abbott’s behavior is beyond irresponsible. He needs to go in November.
