Hi Friend,
Staten Island continues to make history. Just weeks ago, Amazon warehouse workers at the JFK8 facility voted to form the FIRST Amazon union in the nation. Now, just miles away, another facilities is holding their own union election. These collective efforts and support from people like us pose a huge challenge for Bezos and Amazon’s board in their quest to stop any more workers from unionizing.
That is why we need to continue our support for the people leading the fight to unionize. We've joined with our friends at Unemployed Workers United and we need you to help us keep up the pressure by sending an email to Amazon Board Member Dan Huttenlocher TODAY, urging him to start negotiating a union contract with workers in Staten Island and stop retaliating against workers who are asserting their right to organize. This includes workers at the Amazon facility in Bessemer, Alabama, where the final unionization vote is too close to call - despite Amazon allegedly threatening workers with closing the warehouse if they organized. We cannot allow these blatant attacks on workers to continue.
