Friend -

Nelson Chavez, who works for a honey producer, decided to join a group of people traveling to the US, also called a migrant caravan, after seeing it on TV. In those images, he saw his way out.

He felt compelled to leave - there were few opportunities to make a decent living in El Salvador to support his family. "I bottle the honey and sell it from my home," Chavez says. "But my income only covers half of what my family needs."

Friend - many families like Nelson's are forced to migrate because of poverty, violence, and corruption in their home countries. But thanks to the Oxfam community, we're working to help migrant families and address the root causes of migration in Central America. >>
