Friends,

They're at it again.

The same legislators who previously attempted to restrict the freedom to vote are re-doubling their efforts with a new tactic: they want to replace  non-partisan county and city elections administrators with people submitted by political parties - or with people who declare whatever personal political affiliation they may have.

It’s a bad idea. I’ve always fought to keep election administration non-political, and that’s what I’ll continue to do. Will you stand with me by chipping in any amount now?

Seemingly inspired by disinformation and conspiracies, these legislators have proposed that every person who processes an absentee ballot in Minnesota must either be on a pre-approved list submitted by political parties or must otherwise disclose their political party affiliation. County and city employees could be effectively shut out of the process if they failed to reveal their personal politics.

I’ll always have the backs of the professionals in local government who have conducted elections with integrity - and I’ll always push back against attempts to undermine our democracy with partisan schemes.

If you’re with me in the fight to protect free and fair elections, please chip in any amount now.

Thank you,

Steve
