Today, human rights lawyer Steven Donziger woke up free, marking the closure of the latest chapter in Chevron’s scheme to evade accountability for its crimes in Ecuador.
Now all eyes will turn back to the true crime: Chevron’s deliberate dumping of more than 16 billion gallons of toxic wastewater into the Ecuadorian rainforest, leaving local people suffering a wave of cancer, miscarriages, and birth defects.
