I won't sugarcoat it... the news isn't great.

What happened? Dozens of national publications and pundits have already characterized AZ-06 as one of the most competitive Congressional races in the country. No, that's not the bad part. Competitive districts are actually a good thing. But last night the National Journal took it one step further and ranked our district as the fourth most likely to flip from Democratic to Republican... in the country. As the kids say, "big yikes". 

Why did they do this? They made this declaration for a few reasons. First, redistricting packed more Republicans into AZ-06. Second, pundits are predicting a red wave across the country, and Arizona is not immune. Third, establishment Republicans and the radical right have coalesced around our Republican opponent, and he's breaking fundraising records at every turn.

Does this matter? This one article is not going to make or break this race. But the underlying reasons why the National Journal listed our race as likely to flip definitely matter. They're not wrong in saying this district is now extremely competitive and that our Republican opponent is flush with cash. 

What can we do? As President Obama once said, "Money is not the only answer. But it helps." This is (I know you're shocked) where you come in. Kirsten is facing her most important deadline yet this week and we need you, the grassroots supporters to step up.
