Recently, one of our attorneys represented Celena, a mother of three from the Dominican Republic who is now living in Boston. Celena has been separated from her children since 2016, and has not been able to see them since she fled for her life. The children have been staying with relatives, and have experienced great emotional and financial hardship because of the separation. Celena had petitioned for her children to be able to join her, but with the government’s very slow processing times and the pandemic-related delays, this difficult separation was prolonged for years. However, with Rian's legal assistance, the children were recently issued with travel documents and will soon be joyfully and safely reunited.
