I’m not gonna lie to you here - I’m reaching out to ask if you can make a donation to Cheri’s campaign today. But, as Cheri’s campaign manager, I want to make sure you hear from me as to why grassroots support matters so much to our efforts. So, would you give me a chance to explain why your donation is so important?

First, tomorrow is an official FEC deadline for our campaign. I know April 27 may seem like a weird date for a deadline, but that’s the FEC’s “pre-primary” deadline. They require campaigns like ours to report our full fundraising numbers one final time before voters go to the ballot box.

That means this is our last chance to demonstrate strength before we find out which out of touch Republican opponent we will have to run against.

Second, we know our opponents and their Super PAC allies will be closely watching. McConnell’s super PAC already made a $27 million ad buy in North Carolina — the second-biggest ad buy Senate Leadership Fund made anywhere in the country.

So falling short of our goal would put an even bigger target on our campaign. That’s why your support is so important, and it’s why I need to ask:

Will you please make a $3 donation to our campaign to flip North Carolina and send Cheri Beasley to the Senate? Tomorrow is our FEC deadline, and we need your support to reach our goal.

It may not seem like small-dollar donations are enough, but actually, grassroots donations are our best chance to fight back. In fact, the majority of donations to our campaign come from people like you giving what you can in response to messages just like this one.

When everyone is pitching in, even a $3 donation has the power to swing North Carolina blue and expand our majority.
