As Attorney General, I am leading the fight to shut down illegal robocalls to Washingtonians.
Harassing robocalls are annoying – they can also be illegal. And illegal robocalls are a favorite tool of many scam artists looking to deceive Washingtonians out of their money.
I filed three lawsuits to hold illegal robocallers accountable and return money scammers gained through deception. Thanks to our efforts, illegal robocallers paid more than $10 million in penalties — and I’m not done. Now I’m launching an initiative to shut down illegal robocalls.
I set up a unique complaint hotline where Washingtonians can report robocalls to my investigators. I’m working with the Legislature to strengthen our anti-robocalling law and close a key loophole. And now I teamed up with the Biden administration to collaborate and share investigative resources to stop robocall scammers.
I will continue to hold scammers and special interests accountable to the rule of law – that includes illegal robocallers.
